What is an Essential Oils Practitioner
Before I explain my role as an Essential Oils Practitioner, let's first discuss Aromatherapy.
Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils to improve health and well-being. According to the International Federation of Aromatherapists (IFA), Aromatherapy is the art and science of combining naturally extracted oils to balance the body, mind, and spirit. French chemist René-Maurice Gattefossé first coined the word "Aromatherapy" in the late 1920s, but the use of essential oils dates back centuries, with each oil offering its own physical and emotional benefits. For more details about essential oils, please check my blog, “The Power of the Plant.”
As an Essential Oils Practitioner, I have successfully completed a L4 course dedicated to the comprehensive study of aromatherapy theory, focusing on the art of creating personalised blends specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of my clients. The difference therefore, is that an Aromatherapist practices massage with essential oils, an Essential Oils Practitioner, blends essential oils without the massage element. I am however a qualified Indian Head Massage Therapist and I incorporate essential oils to significantly enhance relaxation and promote an overall sense of well-being.
In my practice, I treat clients creating bespoke essential oil blends, choosing specific essential oils that would benefit particular systems of the body: skin; circulation; respiratory; digestive; urinary and endocrine; immune and nervous system. Examples would be to support the relaxation of aching muscles and joints, help alleviate PMT symptoms or aid sleep related issues. These blends can be used through a variety of application methods - blended with base products such as oils and body lotions, bath oils, shower washes, moisturisers, hot and cold compresses, steam inhalation and vaporisation.
I have cultivated this extensive knowledge to thoughtfully offer a variety of essential oil blends on my website - click the link below to visit my shop. We mustn’t forget that essential oils are highly concentrated volatile substances and are expensive to produce, some more than others depending on their yield. I only use 100% pure and genuine essential oils for my clients and shop products, with no artificial or synthetic essential oil substitutes. Shopping from a trained professional not only guarantees access to high-quality products but also ensures that you are receiving safe and effective options tailored to your needs.
